Nayara Energy helping communities fight COVID-19 in Devbhumi Dwarka
Covid-19, the novel coronavirus outbreak has hit almost every country in the world. This is the biggest humanitarian crisis since World War 2. To date, almost 40 million people have been affected by COVID-19 and around 1.11 million have died, even in India the number of affected has reached 7.5 million. To go through this, what we need is to join hands and come together with the government to solve the crisis. Many organizations have even come forward in this need of the hour.
Nayara Energy, along with the local administrations of Jamnagar and Devbhumi Dwarka has worked closely to fight against the pandemic. A new-age downstream company of international scale has ensured the safety of its staff and the local community who are associated with the business operations with the company. For the frontline workers, Nayara Energy has provided the personal protective equipment (PPE’s), fumigation equipment, and support in the District of Jamnagar and Dwarka, along with the ventilators to Khambaliya Hospital to save the lives of critically ill patients.
At Nayara Energy, as a part of its CSR initiative, the company has helped ensure that the lockdown doesn’t severely affect the villages in Devbhumi Dwarka District, the company has provided groceries to 12000 families. Nayara Energy along with the local authorities and government through its Gramsamruddhi initiative has provided the frontline workers with more than 1 lakh masks which are stitched by women entrepreneurs from the 15 neighboring villages. It has also set up kitchens for the Jhakhar community to provide cooked food. Apart from this through their network of petrol pumps, Nayara Energy has distributed around 67000 masks, 12,000 gloves, 3000 hand sanitizer bottles, 1,00,000 packets of cooked food, and 38,000 ration kits.
Moreover, Nayara Energy is planning to install a healthcare kiosk in the neighboring four villages to provide medical assistance in remote locations. The times of emergency requires everyone to come forward and contribute whatever they can in fighting the battle. With their continuous focus on improving the lives of communities, to do what is right for the nation and the communities, Nayara Energy has been an inspiration in fighting the pandemic, with their co-operative effort, communities have been successful in surviving the tough time.
